But when it comes to home cooking, we must know simple, quick potato recipes. You can give this potato fry to kids in tiffin. Kids will love it. This recipe is prepared with very little quantity of oil.  So today, we are telling 2 simple methods of how to fry potato.

Ingredients:

2 Medium size potatoes

1/4th Spoon turmeric powder

1 Spoon red chilly powder

1 Spoon garam masala powder

1 Spoon ginger garlic paste

2 Spoon cornflour

1 Spoon lemon juice 

2 Spoon oil

Salt as per taste


How to fry potato: Method 1

1. Slice potato in thick slices. Put them on a big plate.

2. Add all the dry spices, ginger-garlic paste, cornflour salt, lemon juice, and mix well.

3. Do not keep this for a longer time as it will release water after adding salt and ginger garlic paste.

4. Heat the pan on gas and add two tablespoon oil.

5. Once the pan is hot, add these potatoes on the pan one by one.

6. Do not add all the potatoes and make it crowded. Add potatoes in batches if you have a lot of potato slices.

7. Fry potato on low-medium flame until crispy from out (both sides) and cooked inside. You can check with the help of a fork or knife.


How to fry potato: Method 2

1. In a pressure cooker, boil potatoes till 2-3 whistles. Do not boil potatoes fully. As it will become difficult to slice them, and they might become soggy.

2. After the cooker gets cool down, remove potatoes, peel of the skin, and cut thick slices.

3. In a big bowl, add all the dry spices, ginger-garlic paste, cornflour salt, lemon juice, and mix well.

4. Add little water to make thick batter consistency. Do not make it watery as the batter should stick to potatoes.

5. Heat the pan on gas, add 2 tablespoons of oil. Once the pan is hot, take potato slices one by one, apply batter to them, and put on the pan.

6. Do not add all the potatoes and make it crowded. Add potatoes in batches if you have a lot of potato slices.

7. Fry potato on low-medium flame until crispy from out (both sides) and cooked inside. You can check with the help of a fork or knife.


Advice:

  • Using the 1st method, you can fry sweet potato, raw banana, Bringle, Zucchini, etc.
  • In method 2, do not overboil the potatoes.
  • You can use rice flour instead of cornflour.
  • Do not fry potatoes on high flame. They will burn from outside and remain uncooked from inside.
