Peanut brittle is one of the sweetest candies loved by everyone. The original brittles are made from peanuts that's why called as peanut brittle. Nowadays, many people make it with different variations such as almonds, cashews, roasted Bengal gram, puffed rice, beaten rice, or desiccated coconut. Ingredients:
150 grams of peanuts
150 grams jaggery
1 teaspoon butter
3/4 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Peanut Brittle Recipe:
- Heat the pan on a moderate flame.
- Add peanuts, stir continuously and roast them evenly. You can take with skin or without skin peanuts for peanut brittle.
- If you are using with skin peanut, you can remove the skin after they are cool down by rubbing peanuts between your both palms. Some people use with skin peanuts for peanut brittle.
- Keep peanuts aside in a bowl.
- Now keep the pan on medium heat and add jaggery and water in it.
- Keep stirring and let it boil until you see sticky consistency. Generally, it takes 6 to 8 minutes on medium heat.
- Now add roasted peanuts to the jaggery and stir well on low flame for 1 minute until combined nicely. Turn off the gas.
- Grease a cake tin or steel plate or baking tray with butter so that the peanut brittle won't stick to it.
- Pour the peanut brittle mixture in the container you are using. Spread peanut brittle mixture evenly.
- Allow it to get a little cool down and give square shapes with a knife so that once its cooldown. You can break peanut brittles easily.
- Your delicious peanut brittles are ready.
